Tired of rules and protocol, Ruby can play nice when the situation requires it. A bit of a coward, but fiercely devoted to those she treasures. In today's sun, Ruby thrives from her commendable upbringing between both her family and her ‘Family.’ As the runt of her litter, she cowers at the idea of training to fight. Her mother remains a homemaker in a foreign land, stolen from her own, while her father expands the inherited generational wealth. Though her wealth is never truly hers, the Kurosawa Commission holds numerous fisheries, restaurants, and other hospitality services within their portfolio. She had been tapped to join many meetings for a wide spectrum between business consultation to drink pours to dancing for the Sultanate. Her standard of living isn't a continual display of excess wealth, but occasionally Ruby finds herself spending gil on unnecessary timeshares, then working behind a bar to make ends meet between deposits of funds.After her father shifted gears from shirking Ruby to embracing her, she's had business on the mind to keep him proud. He regards her well and elevated her status as heiress. Although this blessed her with the professional experience to work as a liaison on his behalf, she had no idea what length he went to protect the brood. Once Ruby went to Shoku for the protection of her family businesses, her father had to reckon with his past connections. The family splits their attention between multiple factions and one of which assisted Ruby in her training at an Okiya. She had honed her skills to become a maiko before seeking out other ventures. Much like their shrine, they focus less on opening their doors and more on training the family members within. The Kurosawa's ancestral Kami had always been Susanoo, but Ruby's mother was a shrine maiden for Konohanasakuya-hime. In today's age, Ruby's compels Susanoo's strength for her bökh oaths yet she appeals to his slain Kami for grace: Wakahirume.Her education had been the same as her siblings: world class and second to none. Though it continues to impress, she has sought out higher education. Ruby excelled in learning Eorzean while overseas and never lost her handle on her native Hingan tongue. With her current enrollment at the private Academie de Ste. Lesereaux, she yearns to shift from Clothier of the East to Advanced Astrologian! Though her sister Emi picked up an axe, Ruby still reaches for the fabrics. Too often does she find herself tailoring and embroidering her own wear — eventually evolving from a side hobby to a profession.Before departing Hingashi, Ruby made quick friends with foreign adventurers. Her first alliance was with Although she had left home periodically in the past, the most recent summer saw Ruby venture out towards Eorzea. She was given a stipend but is very good at spending gil. When in between advances abroad, Ruby can be see working at Scordia (JP) with her childhood friend from performances for the sultana: K'yary! From storming castles to stealing hearts, the two remain close companions. Although Ruby dreads the cold, she can be convinced to take to the snowy lands of Ishgard to serve at Little Comet Cafe (JP). This isn't to say she doesn't return home! When she does, she makes sure to fill in at Mikoshi's Rest (NA) when needed. Gambling? Card dealing? Bartending? Dancing? Plenty of fun to be had with all of the co-workers she cherishes. She leaps at any chance to travel to Vylbrand to fish all around Limsa. She seems to have complaints about the other two-city states, one for their racist elementals and the other for the power of Naraku.Commander Au’Zjaariel, big trouble in little Kugane, has taken to showing Ruby the ropes around Eorzea. Had it not been for the spy pirate, Ruby never would have applied her artisan hands to mechanical engineering. She's not very good at it... but she's doing her best to tinker the airship! Her skills with stitching (both by fabric and flesh) have improved exponentially. Most of Ruby's strongest connections have been made at bars, the most peculiar of all: the Rakshasa. The three have crossed paths with business partners Pollux and Yuyu, leading the five to work as fixers. Ruby in particular does not oversee operations, but she has been crucial in forging alliances with other organizations. Ruby was initially brought on as the Bar Manager, but she's eager to deal cards and watch arcanists train their carbuncles in the basement.Skillset: Kurosawa, Clothier from the East, found her talent of tailoring was born out of necessity to mend and fit her clothes rather than a lucrative business opportunity. Her weaving skills blossomed for both threads of silks... and well-spoken words. The grabbed the attention of Red Moon who inquired about what else she could offer. With her mother and eldest sister strived to become homemakers, the raven-haired pair passed on their baking tutelage to Ruby. If you see her bringing baked goods to the battle field to either curry favor or morale... it wouldn't be the first time. Her other sister, an adventurer, helped Ruby to take up chakrams for arms. This is without a doubt Ruby's weakest skill; she's more inclined to refer to herself as a 'retired dancer.' Gone are her days of performing, though she's still as chaotic and twirly as ever. This background keeps her nimble on her feet and at the ready for tinkering. Given her stature, she oft moves silently and without a trace. With a tail almost as long as her body and the shining pink hue of her hair, Ruby cannot take to the shadows but she will always bend with the whim of the gales. While her wispy aether is far from perfect, the drive and passion for her to find her star helps Ruby lend a healing hand. Most who have seen her as a barkeep would attest that her pour is her deadliest weapon, but one is welcome to give her a firearm to see how she fares.Physical description: Ruby is always well-kept and well-groomed. Her tail is almost too smooth from constant preening, showing a bit of her insecurities. She is hardly seen with any knots in her hair and typically pulls her pink locks out of her face. Somehow she always carries a familiar scent of jasmine. She is petite in form — including her short ears due to her halfbreed status. Ruby offers a fangless smile and if she's taking to the sea enough there are freckles lining her nose. The half cat stands just over four and a half fulms and weighs ninety ponze. Her eyes bounce between the slits and rosey orbs -- just as expressive as her ever swaying tail. Her eyes seem to have an unnatural glow at a closer look...
